![]() The enemies in X2 fight stupid, so Mandalays and Bayamons are meat for you. Once you do that mission you can use your M4 to fight some pirates. Following the plot will give you some perks there are some simple ways to turn some extra profit from it too, such as selling the shields and weapon from the transporter ship you use to pick up Mi Ton in the second or third mission that's a big one and should let you buy an M4 ship, not to mention you also get a freighter (albeit a damaged one) for that. I can still give my answer: getting ahead in x2 isn't impossible, it just takes patience. You know, the subjects discussed in this thread so far haven't really fit with the original topic. And get the other needed ones that are not in the list: the I-War games, Freelancer 2, Tachyon, the WC saga, Privateer 1 and 2.Īll those games that do unintellectual stuff like having a narrative. And many of you 'real X fans' have the tendency to alienate all the possible fans as not worthy of the games.Anyway, of the list, take Freespace and maby Freelancer. It's like 'If you pretended to see comedy you should watch To Be or Not To be, MASH, The Santa Clause and films like that'. Originally posted by:For you i'd recommend something like Freespace, Freelancer, Strike Suit Zero, Darkstar One and games like that. Please, don't you dare putting all those games in a 'games like that' bag. Use the No Steam.exe off the egosoft website (where you download the bonus package) else steam will update certain files, like restoring a file that will mute betty.I run the bonus package, some of Cycrows main scripts, the XRM mod, cockpit mod, S waresize for docking computers, straight and colour coded universe map and the Hullstrength mod.It make my game basically feel like Vanilla+No real cheating, just a more filled out and larger universe to roleplay in. Install the Mod using the instructions from the download page, make sure you load up a game with XRM first and then run the game alittle before you install your mods, else you might find pirate mammoths and missing jumpgates.Also. It says to make a second copy outside the Steam folder but I don't know how to do that. Looking through the XRM installation instructions it seems like these are problems usually associated with mod conflicts, but this is a clean install of both games (only actually played them a couple of times before installing XRM).It says something about it being preferable to use a second copy of the game placed outside of the Steam folders, but just copying the X3 games to somewhere else still leads it to the Steam install.Does anyone know what the proper way of installing the mod using a Steam copy is? 'Betty' is the name of the voice that reads information specs to you in the game, XMR made it so the voice would read new ship information as well.Cockpits and backgrounds are a seperate download from the main three files, further down the post. The only thing I can think that I did wrong was having the Steam version of the game, which the post said was bad because when Steam checks file integrity it will change the modded files back to normal. Cockpits, backgrounds don't work, no Betty voice, most modded text just says 'readtext' error. I've got both TC and AP on Steam.I tried installing XRM mod, but it's all messed up. ![]() If posting about a specific game, please tag your posts to avoid confusion.XT: X-TensionXBTF: X: Beyond the FrontierX2: X2: The ThreatX3R: X3: ReunionX3TC: X3: Terran ConflictX3AP: X3: Albion PreludeX-R: X-RebirthTo post spoilers: Profitsss are good(/spoiler)turns into.official forums.Buy the on SteamLike playing space sims?
